What We Do

Virtual Worlds

Kaleidoskope is a living laboratory of visual artists, creatives, and designers passionate about discovering space's beauty. We don’t render; we create! In 2022 we were recognized by Architizer for creating the “Most Beautiful Modeling and Rendering and were Shortlisted for the Visualization Prize at the World Architecture Festival.

As designers and artists, we know the importance of design intention, materiality, lighting, and the passion for creating beauty. Across three continents, we work closely with our clients to deliver quality visual experiences with maximum efficiency.

How We Work

1 Model Review & View Selections

What we deliver:

We review our clients’ models and project information. There is a large process of rebuilding and optimizing the model by deleting unnecessary elements which won’t be used for the final render or animation model. This usually takes about 2 days to take everything apart and put it back together again each time we receive a new model from the client, so model updates will delay the schedule. Output at this phase is typically a white model we use to check the geometry and ensure there isn’t anything missing or that needs to be updated per your review.

What the client Delivers:

We require feedback at the stage to confirm that the geometry of the model we have created matches the client’s and that the views selected are aligned with the client’s vision. No other feedback is necessary at this stage.

2 Materiality

What we deliver:

We then spend the time to set the materials to each surface or element in the model. There is usually a process to getting the right tone, color, scale, texture, and so forth. This phase usually includes landscaping if the client or consultant provides sufficient information.

What the client Delivers:

At this stage, we depend on the client to confirm that all materials and FF&E are aligned with the design, material samples, and client’s vision for the project. We require clear material references, brands, or samples.

3 Artificial Lighting and Environments

What we deliver:

Once materials and geometries are set, we lay out the lighting plans and fixtures. We do these two steps together to adjust lighting for each view based on the environmental direction related to day/night and season.

What the client Delivers:

Lighting Plans, Sketches, and Lighting Intention References from the client is highly important at this stage. We are capable of designing and creating our own lighting scenarios. Still, we wish to align with the client’s vision, especially for interior rendering or exterior images where interior lighting is clearly viable. Any special fixtures or brands should be noted.

4 Drafts Finals

What we deliver:

Now that all the components have been layered together correctly, we can begin the process of outputting render drafts for high-level critique. These will be the first fully composited images with all of the elements combined and artistic direction and artwork applied. This phase is the final precursor to the final renders. There are typically three rounds of final drafts at maximum.

What the client Delivers:

We request that the client review the final draft marking any outstanding details, and approve each individual image for the final render.

About Your Project

Project Schedule?

We prefer to have a draft model, location, and site context one week before receiving the final model. Once we receive the final model, we prefer two weeks to work. The quality cannot be guaranteed if we don’t have the time needed. We understand some modifications and adjustments might need to be made in the first week to the geometry. Still, we cannot guarantee delivery or quality if the geometry is changed one week before the deadline. If the design scheme is changed after receipt of the final model, there will be an additional charge for major modifications.
